Darren tweeted yesterday 'I could seriously move to Melbourne. I love it here!' ...Darren, if you are reading this, forget Byron Bay and stay in Melbourne! An amazing guy. An amazing talent. For all you Darren Hayes fans, not only is Secret Codes and Battleships coming in October, but the tour....yes THE TOUR...coming later in the year!

DARREN HAYES ON MIX 101.1 MELBOURNE RADIO
SUPPORTERS ANGRY WITH AFL TICKETING
Disgruntled Melbourne Football Club supporters have expressed their concerns and anger with news that Melbourne's game against Geelong at Skilled Stadium on Saturday July 30, will be a fully ticketed match. Supporters who purchased 17 game memberships from the club were advised that the Geelong game wasn't included in the package and that the AFL and Geelong Football Club have mandated the match as a fully ticketed game. Ticket prices range from $58.75 for members, to a ridiculous $61.75 for non-members.
Supporters have unleashed their concerns via social media sites, with many claiming the AFL are doing their best to ruin the game for the everyday supporter. It is understood that Melbourne, who are the away team, have no control over the matter and that the issue lay with the AFL and the Geelong Football Club. Unfortunately for Dees supporters, many will opt not to attend the game with many fans likely to tune in to Foxtel who will televise the game live into Victoria. As it seems, Etihad Stadium have had this arrangement for quite some time and are still scrutinised and under the media spotlight for long ticket queues and unused seats within the stadium - thus making the telecast unattractive for television broadcasting. Personally, the issue needs to be rectified as many supporters and members who have been paid up, feel like they are being squeezed out. Members have had to put up with higher ticketing costs and unfair seating policies set by the AFL. The Demons currently have 36,693 members - highly unjust for those supporters who are forced to fork out or miss out at a stadium that can hold only 28,300 people. SEAN WIGHT 1964 - 2011
Wight who was 47, played 150 games for the Demons before calling his retirement in 1995. Sean passed away this morning after a short battle with lung cancer. The highlight of his career came when he played in two night grand finals in 1987 and 1989, representing Victoria and playing off in the AFL Grand Final in 1988 alongside team mate and close friend Jim Stynes.
Sean was heroic in his stand as one of Melbourne's bigger defenders who always put his body on the line and was never afraid of the hard tackle or big overhead mark. He will be missed by all who are part of the Melbourne Football Club family and those in the community who enjoyed his great athleticism. Rest In Peace.

Joe Camilleri is bringing Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons back for a special 35th anniversary show on September 2 at The Forum Theatre in Melbourne. The band is well known for it's album Screaming Targets in 1979 which boasted hit songs Hit and Run and Shape I'm In. Jo Jo also put group The Black Sorrows onto the map, featuring sisters Vika & Linda Bull, the ensemble had several massive hits in 1989. Chained To The Wheel, the biggest hit from The Black Sorrows reached a chart high of #9 in February of 1989. The song, still worthy of a foot tap and a sing-along on all Aussie radio stations. The band is also well known for the tracks Never Let Me Go and Harley and Rose which were charted hits released in 1990 and 1991.

LA LA LA LA LA LA HERE COME THE SMURFS...
They were the reason behind me missing the first 10 minutes of school and they were also the inspiration behind the blue super-dooper, The Smurfs are coming - to the big screen! The film, starring voiceovers by Neil Patrick Harris, Katy Perry and others will mark the return of our beloved blue creatures from the land of Smurfs. Don't we all love seeing Gargamel come undone and watching our Smurfs run to freedom! The film hits cinemas on July 29, the teaser clip courtesy of Columbia Pictures. Me: 'Muuuuuum, the Smurfs are on...'
Mum: 'You're gonna be late for school!... Car!... Now!...'

DEES DARE TO DREAM
Melbourne Football Club have reason to celebrate this weekend after storming into the AFL's Top 8. The Dees are sitting in 8th position tonight with a match to play this coming Friday night at Etihad Stadium against the Western Bulldogs. The Demons put on a ruthless display of football to beat Richmond by 27 points.
Both the Dees and Dogs are coming off wins, although the Bulldogs were not too convincing against the Gold Coast Suns at the weekend. Melbourne will be out to chalk up a third consecutive win as the feel around the club starts to pick up after a mediocre start to season 2011. A couple more wins for the Demons would see them push towards the middle of the top 8 and almost certainly secure a finals spot - the dream of playing in September remains well and truly alive. Click here to see the team belt out the song after the match. I can guarantee you, I was doing the same thing in the grandstands.

GYPSY & THE CAT SHINE ON HOME TURF MELBOURNE
Unfortunately for the band, their Perth performance was cancelled due to the volcanic ash cloud that restricted flights in and out of Western Australia and Victoria. Kylie's fans for the Perth show were warmed up and entertained by Kylie's DJ, enough for them to prime themselves for Madam Minogue herself. It's unfortunate for Perth show goers as I'm sure they would have really enjoyed seeing Xavier Bacash and Lionel Towers spin their magic on stage. They looked relaxed on their home turf in Melbourne with 30 minutes of performance time. Those in the queue for Splash Zone entry heard the name Gypsy & The Cat float around the floor, some not heard of the band at all. On a personal note, I vouched for the boys, hinting to those infront and behind that they were about to witness something special - my words caught the attention of a man standing aside, he approached me and said that he was glad he heard me say that as one of the boys from the band was his son. He stood proud... Good on him too. We got to hear a few goodies, including Time To Wander, The Piper's Song and Jona Vark. Remember the name folks - GYPSY & THE CAT...In this video we are treated to a special live rendition of The Piper's Song.

A KYLIE & DANNII MINOGUE MUSIC RELEASE?
The rumour mill is running hot with word on the street that sisters Kylie and Dannii Minogue are keen to join forces for a special duet. The two have reportedly spoke about teaming up for a near future release - the thought, mouth watering. For most fans, this video from the mid 80's is enough to want more - contrary to what the opposition think. The two women know how the scene works along with all the ups and downs of the industry. Both have rode career roller-coaster rides taking the good with the bad. We saw them when they were younger performing the hit Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves on Young Talent Time in the 80's followed by another musical surprise at Kylie's Homecoming Showgirl concert in Australia when the two performed the Kylie and Robbie Williams hit Kids. A pairing of the two musical icons now would be nothing short of AMAZING! Give it to me!

ENRIQUE IGLESIAS: DIRTY DANCER
ENRIQUE IGLESIAS has released the video for his new single Dirty Dancer featuring Usher and Lil Wayne. The Iglesias juggernaut rolls on with this track already rocking up the chart and making radio plays across the country. Enrique bring his Euphoria Tour to Australia in July, playing Rod Laver Arena Melbourne on July 27 and 28. When this 6ft hunk of latino does something, he never does it in halves. The video is leaking sexy and is enough to fill an entire dance-floor.

BRYAN ADAMS BOOKS TRIP DOWN UNDER FOR BARE BONES INTIMATE SHOWS
BRYAN ADAMS, the man that gave us Summer of '69, Heaven, Everything I Do I Do It For You and other streams of hits is heading to the land Down Under to perform a series of intimate shows. Bryan will play the smaller venues and has booked the Palais Theatre in Melbourne for his first stop on September 15. Bryan will then head to Sydney Opera House, QPAC Concert Hall in Brisbane and the Civic Centre in Newcastle for what is going to be a very up close and personal night with the rock legend who has been around for decades. Runaway hit Summer of '69 has been a summer anthem for as long as I can remember. For Aussies, the song takes you back to the days when families would all jump in the car with caravan hooked up and kids in the back sucking back a Super Dooper or eating a Whiz Fizz....'those were the best days of my life'. Adams has won several musical awards, some even for film scores. It was in March of 2011 that Bryan was given the 2435th star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Did I mention Bryan's Maltese inherited ancestry? All thanks to his grandmother. Tickets for the shows go on sale Wednesday June 29 at 9am, with pre-sale tickets available from today June 23 at 12 noon AEST... As this story goes to air.... I can report that I have just scored tickets in the very front row for the Melbourne show!Don't miss it, it's set to be 'Bare Bone' material!

CLOUDS OF ASHES
AUSTRALIA has been gripped by the volcanic ash crisis that has rocked Chile and Argentina. Airports have been thrown into chaos, with many flights delayed or even cancelled. Some amazing photographs have emerged straight from the volcanic region with many residents still in complete disbelief. As thousands of travellers lay stranded in states or airports, many towns in the South American region are covered in a horror looking layer of grey ash. As many as 500 flights were cancelled with some airlines ceasing services completely. Qantas has reportedly opened up their gates from 2pm yesterday with more than 20,000 passengers reportedly affected by the latest of natural disasters. These raw images from Reuters. CHRIS LILLEY'S ANGRY BOYS
Love him or hate him, Chris Lilley is an Aussie star who's television show Angry Boys is scoring ratings gold for the ABC. Keeping a straight face is no option for those who watch, it's guaranteed humour, a true Australian comedy. Foul language, racism, homophobia and all the things you shouldn't do on TV - get done on TV. Let it be known that Chris will give any 'untouched media material' a good run if given the opportunity. Just like he has in this video. Steve (Chris Lilley) takes hiding the remote that one step too far. How far would you go?
AMY WINEHOUSE' BELGRADE DISASTER
I believe this video of Amy Winehouse in Belgrade last week leaves little to the imagination. The first few words that come to mind are 'refund', 'stoned' and 'train wreck'. So many questions...
Jesus.
THE SKIT: 'I Should Be So Lucky'
Thanks to Scott Harrah from www.StageZine.com for sharing this Kylie Minogue / Stock Aitken Waterman skit. Rick Astley even gets to make a cameo in the spoof. Quite funny, although serious Kylie fans like myself might find this material offensive....or extremely freakin' hilarious. Thank God Aussies have a sense of humour. Only in the UK...

PHOTO SPECIAL: Kylie Minogue Live In Melbourne 'Aphrodite - Les Folies' Tour 2011
APHRODITE LES FOLIES in pictures. Take a look through this gallery of photographs, taken by yours truly at both Kylie shows this week. You will see a mix of stage, pose or Kylie Minogue in full flight. The set cost a hefty $25 million dollars, one of the biggest ever. Based around Kylie's portrayal of Greece's Goddess of Love, the detail and effort put into this show was second to none. Seeing photographs such as these does not do justice to the show - it must be seen to be believed.
