The X Factor Australia - Wow! Emmanuel Kelly!

It was a spine-tingling emotional rendition of John Lennon's Imagine on Australia's X Factor with Emmanuel Kelly on Monday night, the boy from Iraq who was orphaned with his brother, both with severe deformities have won the hearts of the Aussie crowd. Defying all odds, and left for dead in a shoebox by the side of the road in war torn Middle East, Emmanuel took to the stage and sang his life away - Ronan Keating, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Guy Sebastian and Spice Girl Mel B moved to tears. His story a tale of survival, a remarkable voice, a wonderful performance.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor Sells Out Melbourne Show!

Sophie Ellis-Bextor has sold out her Melbourne show at the Greyhound Hotel on Saturday October 1st.

Sophie will showcase her biggest hits in a special one off show. Tickets were snapped up in no time with Ellis-Bextor travelling to Sydney the following day for another cameo performance.

I've been lucky enough to score tickets to this event, which I am sure is going to be a spectacular night with the Disco Diva!

China Ban Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars & Katy Perry

A strange case of events in China with news of the country banning 100 music tracks - included in the group is Aussie icon KYLIE MINOGUE, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga. What the hell you ask? The truth is (according to China) - they find the music 'offensive'. Chinese website have till September 15 to remove the music from online sources. Included in the ban list: Lady Gaga's Born This Way, Judas, The Edge of Glory, Bloody Mary and more... as for KYLIE, she got a slap on the knuckles for All The Lovers and Can't Get You Out Of My Head. Bruno Mars is also in trouble with Grenade and Just The Way You Are. When you thought that was strange enough, then add Katy Perry's Last Friday Night (TGIF) to the mix - apparently banned for the reference to skinny dipping and being drunk...

I kidd you not. Bad time to be in China if you ask me.

It might just be the very last time these boys sing the club song after a win for 2011. The Dees got up by only a small 30 points against the Gold Coast Suns today at the MCG, a game supporters expected them to do better. The win was a first for interim coach Todd Viney, at the same time a great way to send fans home. For some, it was an ear to ear smile, for me, it was merely just a smirk. A sign of things to come. Now for Port Adelaide Power next week in Adelaide...after this, curtains and a very long and hard 2012 pre-season.

Aussie 80's group 1927 will support Roxette when they tour Australia in February 2012. The group, a favorite amongst Australian music lovers will be thrilled to see 1927 back on stage playing large audiences in big arenas. Melbourne will get the chance to see 1927 support Roxette on February 18 next year. 

The group released an array of hits in the late 80's and early 90's which charted well Down Under, hits include If I Could, Compulsory Hero, That's When I Think Of You and You'll Never Know. It was part of our 80s furniture. It setup names like Dannii Minogue, Tina Arena and even Kylie Minogue. It was an Aussie iconic show that we all sat infront of the 'tube' to watch each week. Johnny Young, the host who gave it his all will help re-produce the show and bring Young Talent Time back to our lounge-rooms! Channel Ten Australia plans to revive the famous show in 2012 with Rob Mills as host and Johnny Young co-producing. As part of the revival, YTT will be recorded in a live setting. Hope it's an evening timeslot, perfect to curl up on the couch with a Big M and a pack of Fantales.

Doris Day's New Album At Age 87

No, you are not imagining things. Doris Day is set to release a new album featuring re-mastered recordings, new material and cover tracks on September 5th. In 1945 she gave us the hit track Sentimental Journey she then went on to become one of the biggest Hollywood stars of our time. Doris' son Terry who died in 2004 helped produce a track that Doris Day will include on her new album, the song is titled Life Is Just A Bowl Of Cherries. Doris is 87, loving life and clearly loving her music.

Chris Isaak's New Album Inspired By Legends

Chris Isaak, the classy man with the guitar is releasing a special album this coming November titled Beyond The Sun. Isaak will use the music that has inspired him and help launch his worldwide success in the music industry. The album was recorded mostly at Memphis' Sun Studios, the home of Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley and the Travelling Wilburys. Beyond The Sun will be issued in a special deluxe package or standard disc set. The deluxe edition will include a 14 track record plus a bonus 11 additional recordings. There will also be a special 2 LP vinyl edition of the deluxe set. Look for it this November. Hasn't this boy come a long way from his Wicked Game days...

Taylor will visit Adelaide on March 4, Brisbane March 6, Sydney March 9 and Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena on March 13 followed by a quick stopover in Auckland, New Zealand on March 16.

Dirty Dancing Revival!

80's mega hit Dirty Dancing will be given a new lease of life with news of it's remake. The classic will be remade for the movie screen, with original Dirty Dancing choreographer Kenny Ortega confirmed to direct and produce the remake. Huge thanks to my Mallee correspondent Marianne Ferguson who sent through the tip! Patrick Swayze, may you rest in peace.

U2 will reissue the smash 1991 album Achtung Baby in a selection of box sets and formats! The re-release will be available to fans in the Uber Deluxe Version, Deluxe Edition, Standard CD, Super Deluxe Edition and special Vinyl Box Set. The release will include an array of booklets, B-sides, rarities, translucent blue waxed vinyl records, a 92 page hardbook, aswell as several DVD packages. September Spectacular! Special New Promo for DAYS OF OUR LIVES!

THE MOMENT we fans of Days of Our Lives have been waiting for! All in the name of HORTON, the show bounces back like never before! How quick of a momentum swing in one minute and nineteen seconds. The official NBC promo for Days of Our Lives is out and it's looking well and truly like the Salem of old! There's the intrigue, the drama, the homecomings, the marriage proposal and the ode to the icons of daytime soap television. From what I have noticed, the characters look much more poised, no over the top acting and plenty of class. Whoever thought of the idea to have Victor splash his wedding proposal message to Maggie - which seems like pink neon lights is an absolute legend! Amazing costumes... How good to see the characters that made the show famous brought back to the forefront. Doug, Julie, Adrienne, Justin, Lexi and Abe... this is an iconic show about to turn the much awaited corner and finally bring classic soap back into our lounge rooms once again!

The detail put into the sets and lighting look tremendous. Looks like there was not a cent spared. Yes, that includes the amount of cream used on the cake that Jack Deveraux finally lands himself into. We get to wave at Carrie and Austin at the top of the balcony - much to Salem's surprise, but the big one is Hope and Bo introducing the shows stalwarts Marlena and John as they make their long awaited return to Salem! It's not all picture perfect in Salem, yes Stefano and Kate watch on as EJ announces to the towns citizens that he is running for Mayor, plus Sami is horrified when Rafe places John Black under arrest! The drama is back, so it's looking like there is no bomb or massacre....yet, but just the clever script writing to showcase our much loved characters and the fine production and direction that this show deserves.
