NEW MUSIC: Cody Xeru

CODY XERU is a natural born performer. Starting at the age of 10, Cody’s love for performance has seen him turn his hand to singing, songwriting, Film & TV, children’s entertainment, theatre performances and he also dabbled in a little stand- up comedy!  Never content to rest on his laurels, Cody continues to explore all forms of the arts with relish and his music is no exception!

“Here We Go” began life when Cody took the song to co-writer/producer Nathan Eshman and they came out with a banger! (according to Australian music guru  Molly Meldrum…”do yourself a favor!” and take a listen to “HERE WE GO!

“Here We Go” is best described as “Euphoric” dance/pop – with the crisp and oh-so-now production sounds emphasizing the message of the song – positivity, reaching for your dreams and never giving up.    (especially through these recent times)

Over the years, Cody has worked alongside the likes of Tina Cousins, DJ Paul Goodyear, Whigfield, Toni Pearen and his love for live performance has seen him perform all over the world. His shows have proven a hit, striking a chord throughout Asia with a special interest from Japan.

Cody has just recorded and released his first JPop track (singing in Japanese and English) & it is now available in Japan signed to KirAKirA Records, with a fresh mix produced by SOLO is also available through Spinnup @ Universal Music Group.

2020 also saw Cody write and feature on Romanian producer Next Routes’ track “FALL IN LOVE” available through Ukraine label Electric Station.

“PARTY DOWN,” Cody’s 2nd track, (also released through Spinnup @ Universal music group), is a pop hip-hop EDM adventure.  Enlisting U.K producer composer Arthur Stanley to bring you this fresh beat block party to get down to!” Featuring on the track is Rap artist from Queens New York, a voice of eloquent hard truth, L.E.E MAJAZ.

Special Interview: The Hiding

The Hiding

theaussieword.com speaks exclusively with Anthony Salce from Melbourne group The Hiding.

Tell us how it all started. What had you first interested in music? Johnny be good (back to the future one) I even have a red guitar I play live. That’s what made me want to start performing as a front man with a guitar in a band. What makes me continue? I love the business side of the industry but I love the friendship that comes from touring and rehearsing with your best mates. Not all memories are good, we have had some tough times, but the good that came from it is the memory of the support we all had for one another. Don’t get me wrong we are also known to kick each other while one is down (in the most humble humorous way), you never want to drop your guard especially if Ryan and Anthony are nearby, the love a practical joke. What keeps us going or interested? I love making memories through music that no 9-5 job can generate. Continue reading “Special Interview: The Hiding”
